Zambia is located in southern Africa and is a completely landlocked country, It is surrounded by eight other countries and is a little larger than the state of Texas.

In the eastern part of the country you will find high plateaus. In central Zambia you will find the Kafue River flats where you might see the mighty crocodile, elephants and zebra.

In western Zambia you can visit the flood plains where people often travel by canoe. If you travel to northern Zambia you might be surprised to see the tall pine trees. In the Gwembe Valley of southern Zambia you will see the large Baobab trees. This is where we live now.

Of course the sweetest place in Zambia is Mazabuka where the Tidwells now live. Why? Because of the sugar cane fields that bring a special flavor to this part of the country.

One of the most beautiful sights in Zambia is the impressive Victoria Falls. It begins as a trickle in northern Zambia and travels some 750 Miles to the brink of the falls where it throws itself over the edge, falling approximately 350 feet.

Zambia is like a coin. On one side you have the modern face of Zambia with shopping areas, busy streets, tall buildings, and yes, even cell phones. And on the other side you find the rural areas that are still quite "African" with the scattered villages, mud huts with thatched roofs, and ox carts and other interesting types of transportation.
